Get help
Ways to get help with PromptMason, and what to include when you email support.
There are seven ways to get help: read the guides on PromptMason’s Help screen, ask PromptMason’s Chat, ask the help chat on promptmason.ai, give an AI assistant a guide’s help prompt, download the guides as files, follow the guide links on PromptMason’s screens, or email support.
Read the guides in PromptMason
Click Help at the bottom of the sidebar, or press F1. Help has every guide from promptmason.ai, with its screenshots, as it was when your version of PromptMason was made. It works without an internet connection.
- The list beside the guide has every guide, by section. Click a section’s name for its summary page. In a narrow window, pick a guide from the list above it instead.
- Type in the search box above the list to find the part of a guide about what you’re looking for. Click a result to go straight to it.
- Links to other guides stay in Help. Back, above the guide’s title, returns to the page you came from. Previous and Next, at the end of each guide, go through the guides in order.
- Open on promptmason.ai, under each guide’s title, opens the guide on the website in your browser. The website can have a newer version of a guide than the one in your version of PromptMason.
Screenshots follow PromptMason’s theme, light or dark.
Ask Chat about PromptMason
PromptMason’s Chat can answer “how do I…?” questions from these same guides, step by step, with a link to the guide in Help.
- Click Help in the sidebar.
- Click Ask about PromptMason at the top of the screen (it shows while Chat is switched on). A new chat opens.
- Type your question, for example “How do I turn on backups?”, and press Enter.
You can also ask in any chat. Chat needs an AI provider: the local model, or your own API key. With the local model, your question stays on your computer. See Ask how to use PromptMason.
Ask the help chat on promptmason.ai
Every page on promptmason.ai has a chat button at the bottom right. Click it to ask a question without installing anything.
It answers questions about PromptMason: what it does, its plans and prices, and how to set something up or what a setting does. Its answers come from this website and these guides and are written by AI, so check any important step against the page it links.
For anything about your order, license or a refund, email support@promptmason.ai instead. The chat can’t look up your account.
Never paste a password, your recovery kit, your recovery code or a library invite into the chat.
Ask an AI assistant with a help prompt
Every guide ends with a box called Want a hand? It holds a short request about that guide, for example “Walk me through creating a team library.”
- Open the guide for what you’re trying to do.
- In the Want a hand? box at the end, click Copy.
- Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant, and send it.
Copy adds a short note about PromptMason and the guide’s full text to the request, so the assistant has the right steps even if it can’t open web pages. It asks the assistant to go one step at a time, use the exact words on PromptMason’s buttons, and check with you after each step.
Never paste a password, your recovery kit file, your recovery code or a library invite into an AI assistant. The help prompt tells the assistant not to ask for them.
Download the guides
- One guide: on promptmason.ai, click Download as Markdown (.md) under the guide’s title. In PromptMason’s Help, click Open on promptmason.ai first.
- Every guide: on the docs home page on promptmason.ai, click Download every guide as one Markdown file (.md).
A Markdown file is plain text. You can read it in any text editor, keep it for offline use, or give it to an AI assistant along with your question.

Show me the ways to get help, and if I need to email support, help me write a clear message with my version number, the steps I took and the exact error. About PromptMason: a Windows desktop app for building AI prompts from reusable blocks. A person writes blocks (reusable pieces of prompt text), builds prompts from them on the Build screen (or keeps a Markdown document, such as a Skill), and copies a prompt into an AI tool, runs it in PromptMason’s own Chat, or lets a connected AI agent use it through PromptMason’s built-in MCP server (the Chrome extension copies prompts on any website). AI assist, Evaluate and Chat use a local model that runs on the person’s PC, or their own AI provider. The guides are also on PromptMason’s Help screen, and Chat can answer “how do I” questions from them. Libraries hold the blocks and prompts; a person can sync their personal library to their other PCs and share team libraries, both through a folder in cloud storage they already have (OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox). Everything synced is encrypted and every edit is signed and checked. A recovery kit (a file plus a code) is the spare copy of the person’s keys, for when every PC is lost. The official guide for this is "Get help": https://promptmason.ai/docs/get-help Its full text follows, between the lines. Use it as the source of truth, and if anything I see differs from it, tell me rather than guessing. --- There are seven ways to get help: read the guides on PromptMason's **Help** screen, ask PromptMason's Chat, ask the help chat on promptmason.ai, give an AI assistant a guide's help prompt, download the guides as files, follow the guide links on PromptMason's screens, or email support. ## Read the guides in PromptMason Click **Help** at the bottom of the sidebar, or press F1. **Help** has every guide from promptmason.ai, with its screenshots, as it was when your version of PromptMason was made.
